🎨 BUT FIRST… WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST BEHIND THE PAINTINGS?
My love affair with art began very early in life, somewhere between the pages of beautifully illustrated Fairy and Mermaid books. Those enchanting images captured my imagination and planted a seed that has continued to grow throughout my life.
My mother was also a watercolour painter, and watching her paint when I was young quietly nurtured my own confidence and curiosity. I think I learned just as much through osmosis as I did through any formal instruction.
During high school, I would eagerly soak up every opportunity to visit galleries, whether on school excursions or weekend outings. I began mentally collecting the elusive artworks that captured my heart. Works such as Flaming June and The Anatomy Lesson stayed with me long after I had left the gallery walls behind.
At 21, a visit to the galleries of Paris only deepened that fascination. I was completely captivated by the history, imagination and extraordinary visual storytelling that art could offer.
Fast forward more than 30 years, and I'm still happily immersed in that love affair!
Over the decades, I've developed an extensive body of work, exploring a variety of themes, subjects and colour palettes. From whimsical balloon dogs and aviation-inspired paintings to expressive figurative works and dreamy landscapes, each collection offers a little glimpse into my imagination.
Today, I'm proudly represented by Lethbridge Gallery in Brisbane, with artworks finding homes with collectors throughout Australia and internationally.
And after all these years, nothing delights me more than creating something new that might warm someone's heart, spark their imagination or inspire a little wonder.
