Please Be Patient With Me, While The Magic Unfolds

Some paintings take a little longer to tell their story. This one has been quietly unfolding in my studio for the past year, and I’m finally beginning to see the warmth, character and magic I’ve been imagining come to life.
This is a very special aviation-inspired painting, one that holds a little more meaning for me than simply putting paint to canvas. There’s something beautiful about capturing the spirit of flight, the curiosity of young aviators, and the imagination that takes us beyond the ordinary.
I’ve been taking my time with this one. Adding layers, refining details, adjusting tones, and allowing the painting to develop at its own pace. Sometimes I need to step back, sit with it, and wait until I know what it needs next.
And, of course, there’s the small matter of creating art with an ADHD mind! 😂 One minute I’m focused on a tiny detail, the next I’m reconsidering an entire section. But somewhere in that process, amongst the tubes of pigment, the little detours and the many hours of work, the magic begins to happen.
I want this painting to feel beautiful, warm, wholesome and complete. Not rushed. Not forced. Just right.
So, while I share these little glimpses of progress, please be patient with me while the magic unfolds. Some things are worth taking the long way around.
